Kukup Trip
Back from Kukup.... Which is a small fishing village, located somewhere in Johor Bahru, by the sea. The houses are mostly built on stilts along the coastline. There are many resorts, owned by local people to cater to tourists.
Went with my relatives and a group of aunties and uncles... The trip was relaxing though rather boring.... Nothing much to do and explore due to the silly rain. Hence, we stayed in the resort to play mahjong... Well, I finally had my first official lesson on mahjong... Haha... Paid some 'lesson fees' but luckily the stakes were very low and i only played with my relatives for a short while. Cause we youngsters were far too bored, we practise mahjong on our own... There's KTV, DVD player and television but too bad, we are a bunch of shy young chaps who had no interest in entertaining the aunties and uncles. It's a great get-away from the city. The lifestyle there are relaxing. A good place to go with a group of buddies, but with the aunties and uncles, it's rather boring cause they spent most of the time gambling and eating inside the resort. Oh ya, speaking of eating, oh my, I felt like I was a baby... Did nothing except to eat, eat, eat... There's almost a 10 dish course for your 2 main meals and at least 3-4 type of food for your breakfast, teabreak and supper. The food there are great, especially if you are a seafood lover, the fishes, scallops, prawns etc are really fresh and the resort owner is a good cook. Provided you dont think about the polluted sea, and where the seafood dishes came from.... We also visited the aquaculture farms or kelong where the crabs and a variety of fishes are commercially bred. There's the shooting fish[not too sure of the name]where they are able to shoot their prey with water. They are so acccurate!!! There's also baby sharks, jelly fishes, pirahnas etc.... Was really worried that the planks will break due to my weight... But luckily I wasnt that heavy yet... *laughs*
It's really interesting and a eye-opening experience for me this "city-born-mountain-turtle". Took a lot of photos... Had my fun... Cant wait for my Taiwan trip!!!!
